Motley is a London-based jewellery brand that’s taking a fresh approach to an old industry. The company works with the world’s best designers to create bold and original collections. Collections that other companies wouldn’t touch, because they’re too intricate and difficult to produce. And they do it all without compromising on quality.
Despite its lofty goals, Motley’s pieces are affordable – as well as being completely unique. It’s a big change for cofounder Cecily Motley, who was previously the director of Louisa Guinness Gallery, selling fine art jewellery to collectors for thousands of pounds. She started Motley with Ilana Lever in 2018, after meeting in a university lecture about witchcraft (naturally). As you might expect, building an industry-disrupting brand is taxing work. Courtney Ellis, Motley’s Head of Creative, says, “A typical day is madness. I'm either on set running a thousand steps a minute, or surfing endless browser tabs, navigating from one set of slides to another.” Courtney continues, “We’re working on multiple exciting projects at any one time. I could be making selects from a shoot, editing a video, building assets for an ad, curating a catalogue mailer, or working on our retail popup installation.”

While Motley’s gaining accolades from far and wide – The Sunday Times calls it “the jewellery holy grail” – sourcing great models for shoots has always been tricky for Courtney. “I really struggled before Contact. I would email agencies back and forth, and be given very few options that weren’t usually up to scratch when we got to casting.” Thankfully, Motley’s co-founder Cecily mentioned Contact to Courtney. Suddenly, booking models got a lot simpler. “Contact is extremely user friendly. I greatly appreciate the way it's structured because it means I can get a model booked quickly and easily.” But it’s not just the simple booking process that swayed Courtney. “Contact’s models are always the nicest people you'll meet, with great energy on set. They’re super skilled and I’m always delighted with the quality of their work. They're professional, dynamic and strong behind the camera.”

After years of endless, fruitless email exchanges with agencies, Contact’s helped to speed up Motley’s booking process – saving Courtney time and energy. “The Contact team is so helpful and quick to get back to me when I need it.
